SC State Bluegrass Festival in Myrtle Beach

The 36th Annual South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival started yesterday on Thanksgiving. The line up is pretty impressive and if you’re in the area this weekend you should consider attending.

I’ll be leaving in just a few minutes myself. It’s a bit of a drive for me (about 7 hours) but I should get there in plenty of time for the evening’s activities. Hay Holler Records has hired my company to produce a concert DVD of The Bluegrass Brothers from this festival. So, on Saturday I’ll be recording and taping both of their performances for inclusion in this project. You can check my website for more information about what I’ll be doing.

If any readers of Bluegrass Today are attending the festival, be sure to come up and say hello. I’d love to visit with you. Just look for the guy with the video camera. Who knows, you might end up on a DVD!
