Awards Poll Update – 10/01

viewpointOnly three and a half weeks left to vote! The poll will remain open until Thursday Oct. 27 at noon. Please be sure to vote before then.

In this week’s poll update we note that 58% of our registered users have now voted. This figure is down slightly from the 59% we reported on Sept 16th. The readership of Bluegrass Today has steadily increased since then and we have seen a significant number of new registered users, but many of them have not voted. There has been some voting activity in the poll however, and here is a short synopsis of what has changed since last week.

Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver are still the poll favorites. They maintain a 14% lead over Rhonda Vincent & The Rage in the Entertainer of the Year category. This is slightly down from last week.

Rain Please Go Away (Alison Krauss & Union Station-performer, Del McCoury-writer) has returned to the lead in the Song of the Year category, outpacing both of Doyle’s entries in that field by a very slim 2%.

Cherryholmes is holding a precarious lead over the Grascals in the Emerging Artist of the Year category, but it’s slightly larger than it was last week. This is by far the most interesting one to watch in my mind.

Several of the other categories continue to be very tight but have not seen significant change since our last update.
