International Acoustic Music Awards

Entries are now being accepted for the 2nd annual International Acoustic Music Awards, sponsored in part by XM Radio, Acoustic Cafe and Paste Magazine. Submissions can be made in 8 different categories and while all acoustic music is not required, a prominent acoustic instrument is specified as a contingent requirement. An artist can submit multiple entries, but a separate application (and $35 fee) is required for each submission.

There appear to be prizes on multiple levels, all involving awards of merchandise and services, though they don’t seem to be clearly specified on the IAMA web site. All award recipients and runners up will be featured on a compilation CD which will be distributed and marketed to radio.

Assurances are given on the web site that all submitted material remains the intellectual property of the songwriters/artists an that no request to turn over rights to the IAMA will be made. More details along with a list of past winners and an entry form can be found at the IAMA web site.
