Professional development webinar series from IBMA

The International Bluegrass Music Association has scheduled a pair of online cyber-conferences designed to assist members with continued professional development. They are geared towards industry pros (artists, agents, promoters, etc) but is not limited to IBMA members.

The first, Creating Strategic Alliances on Facebook, is set to run on November 15 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. (CST). Presenters will be Henri Deschamps, who manages The Mast Farm Inn and The Bluegrass Legacy on Facebook, and Matt Munsey, who performs with Monroeville and runs his own publicity office, Blu-Wav.

IBMA describes the video webinar as follows:

Many bluegrass bands, event producers and associations have a presence on Facebook.com, but the challenge is learning how to fully utilize the free tools on this social networking site to build, communicate with and learn more about your fan base, attendees and members. Specifically, we’ll talk about how to develop partnerships and alliances to increase publicity and help each other effectively interact with much larger groups of “Facebook friends.” Bring your ideas, questions and entrepreneurial spirit to this webinar!

Registration is $40 for IBMA members and $50 for non-members. Only 25 participants will be registered for this interactive video conference, and interested parties are encouraged to contact IBMA right away at 615-256-3222 or 888-GET-IBMA.

For December, a webinar will be scheduled with Arial Hyatt which will follow the theme of her book, Music Success In Nine Weeks. Details on that one will be announced soon.

More information on the webinars can be found at www.ibma.org.
