Rhonda Vincent tackles the NFL

Rhonda VincentTalk about arriving in style…

Having never attended an NFL game in person, Rhonda Vincent has been invited to sing the National Anthem before the Chiefs-Chargers contest on October 25 in Kansas City. Not a bad way to see your first game!

Rhonda has sung the anthem before at several NASCAR races, and opens the Sally Mountain Festival each year with the song, so she won’t need a lot of preparation.

“I also sang it at special games when my daughters played sports in high school, and most recently at Beep Ball, (which is baseball played by visually impaired athletes), when we were performing in Phenix City, AL on 8/29/09.

It’s always an honor to sing the song. The most important thing about the anthem is being sure you start it in the right key, which is tricky, since it’s usually without instruments.  I have to pick a key just by singing it to myself before I walk to the microphone.”
